ALL PROJECTS MUST BEGIN WITH THE COMPLETION OF THE ISEF PAPERWORK
All Projects should start with the ISEF Rules Wizard to identify the forms that are needed for your project. This will help the IRB (Institutional Review Board) evaluate your project for safety and approval.

At minimum, every project will need Form 1, Form 1A (with research plan), Form 1B, and (upon completion of the project) an official Abstract Form.
Form 3 is always a good form to review for safety concerns
Form 1A includes a Research Plan used as a guide for evaluation.

A few important reminders as we get started:
All projects require Forms 1, 1A, Research Plan and 1B. These forms must be completed before experimentation.
Group projects can have a maximum of 3 student researchers.
All school-level fairs must be completed before the end of the first semester, prior to winter break.
The Regional Science and Engineering Fair will be held on the first weekend in February. More details to come.
Any study involving human participants—including surveys—must be reviewed and approved by your SRC/IRB committee before the research begins.
New this year: Any study involving participants under the age of 18 must include a parental consent form as part of the approval process. More details regarding other updates to come.
